Children & Youth
Our programs are designed to nourish kids of all ages to learn and develop positive skills for their future — all while supported by caring Outreach Workers who strive to build meaningful relationships.
Eastsiders After School Program
Children, Grades 3–7
Eastsiders is a safe, positive place for your kids to spend a few hours after school. Here, they can build great friendships, and are surrounded with adult role models.
Daily activities are focused on academic support, including helping your child with homework, and lessons on topics like education, STEM, and health and wellness. Activities also include games, sports, crafts, and field trips on Pro-D Days.
Ultimately, Eastsiders is designed to help your kid finish the school year well, and along the way, to support them with mentorship and life skills.
Teens, Ages 13–17
Lead is for youth who want to develop their leadership skills, so they can make a positive impact in their homes, in our communities, and in the world.
The program includes workshops, and a variety of volunteer opportunities for your youth to practice their new skills, like working with children, public speaking, and leading activities.
Throughout Lead, have the ongoing support of a UGM Youth Outreach Worker, through 1-on-1 time. Here, they’ll receive feedback, mentorship, and be inspired toward growth.
Teens, Ages 13–17
Every week, teens gather for an action-packed activity night.
The evenings start with a community kitchen, where they prepare and share a nourishing meal together. From there, the excitement continues, with city outings like rock climbing, laser tagging, and pottery, and opportunities to serve the Downtown Eastside community.
Ultimately, The Space gives teenagers positive role models and a safe space to hang out, which will help mature them into compassionate, resilient individuals.
Youth & Teens, Ages 13–17
All youth in UGM’s programs have access to 1-on-1 mentorship with a loving mentor, who is invested in helping them navigate through life, and nurture their growth.
For so many mentees, this trusting, genuine, and ongoing support often becomes one of the most influential relationships in their early years.
