Beginning your addiction recovery journey takes incredible courage. However, we know it isn’t easy. That’s why we’re here to help, every step of the way.
When you walk through The Sanctuary's doors, you’ll be immediately surrounded with an incredible sense of love, safety, and comfort. We support women and mothers with babies through a Wraparound Model of Care — meaning you’ll have the resources needed to regain your strength, and rebuild your life.
The Sanctuary walks alongside women from stabilization and the very beginnings of your recovery journey, through to recovery and aftercare.
In recovery, you’ll receive personalized care and practical help. As an alumnae, you’ll be supported toward renewed life through transitional housing, educational programs, and on-site employment opportunities.
The Sanctuary Stabilization and Supportive Recovery programs welcome women, and mothers with babies.

Stabilization
If you’re interested in working towards recovery but aren’t quite sure how to navigate that path just yet, you can enroll in UGM’s Sanctuary Stabilization Program to receive shelter, wraparound support, and trauma-informed counselling. Here, a caring Outreach Worker will also help tailor your stabilization journey to meet your unique needs.
Supportive Recovery
Our live-in, immersive 6–12 month recovery program is designed to help you experience transformative love and stability, and freedom from addiction. Here, you'll receive trauma-informed counselling, get equipped with tools to live a healthy life, and become woven into our close-knit community.
Aftercare
Care and support is essential every step of the way. After graduating from Supportive Recovery, you’ll be encouraged to stay connected to your UGM community and continue rebuilding your life.
Here, you’ll have access to counselling, life skills workshops, career development, educational support, and onsite employment — renewing your sense of purpose, so that you can live a thriving life.
Transitional Housing
We want you to flourish after graduating from recovery. That's why afterwards, you’ll be invited to live in The Sanctuary’s Transitional Housing for up to 5 years.
With units ranging from studio apartments to 3-bedrooms, this gives you the opportunity to maintain and regain custody of your children — so you can grow stronger together as a family.
