Your Impact Will Last a Lifetime

What an incredible week! The difference you’ve made through our 14th Annual Christmas Match Campaign will be felt by individuals and families throughout the communities we serve, transforming lives for years to come.

Together, we were able to raise $2,034,761 and fully double your impact! Because of your generosity, we were able to use all of our match funding — meaning that we can support more people as they access the resources they need to live transformed, restored lives.

The compassionate generosity of over 2500 donors like you is ensuring that everyone who comes through the doors at Union Gospel Mission can receive personalized care — whether that’s a nourishing meal, a night of safe sleep, or a welcome into encouraging recovery programming.

May the peace and joy of the Christmas season be with you and your family, as you continue to faithfully care for others.

Every single gift, from $5 to $5,000, makes a difference and will help transform lives.

We asked what inspired your generosity, and you responded:

  • Union Gospel helps so many individuals in need . We feel our donation is used to help people we do not have the ability to be in touch with. Your compassionate services and programs are needed.
  • UGM has helped my nephews go to summer camp and my uncle during difficult times...your service is beautiful - keep up the good work!
  • This is truly one of my favorite community organizations that look after all of our other members that need a helping hand throughout the year. God bless Dean and his staff for their hard efforts and dedication to this cause.
  • The incredible, caring, loving manner everyone is treated by UGM. PS As a youth, I often went Sunday evenings with a group of Christian friends to sing and help. My uncle, a lay-minister sometimes spoke.
  • My heart breaks for the homeless and addiction crisis. I am so glad UGM is opening a place in Victoria for mothers and babies.
  • Christmas is a special time but many people struggle to get through it. I want to make it a bit easier on them and hope being surrounded by kindness may make a difference.
  • You are doing great work. A chance to have our gift doubled is doubly great. Obviously!
  • We love this city and the people who live here
  • We love the work UGM does as the hands and feet of Christ bringing hope through a meal, shelter and restorative services. You are in our prayers.
  • We are hosting a holiday party for our team and I wanted to reciprocate the gift by donating a meal and night in a shelter for every person attending our own event. The double your impact was wonderful as well
  • UGM's recovery program helped my husband set free from addiction and drawn to God.
  • "UGM is doing amazing  work.  Saw the mobile units on the news and interview with a recipient which brought tears to my eyes. Keep Up the good work!"
  • This organization does an incredible job of transforming lives. I am in a position to give back because of what UGM has done for me and my family. Truly grateful for everything, thank you!
  • My father would go to the Union Gospel for meals.  He would take my grandmother.  He had many Christmas boxes in his cupboard which he never used.  My father was able to buy food but he had some mental unwellness. I am grateful that he found friendship at the UGM.
  • My brother received help during his severe alcohol addition.  Thankfully our family is one of the lucky ones, my brother has been sober for more than 30 years! It could have been a very different had a facility like yours was not available to him.
  • I want to share the joy of giving and to let these wonderful people know that they are loved and important and that God welcomes them with a warm embrace full of love.
  • I volunteer with disadvantaged people, some homeless. They are intelligent, polite and amazing. I hate that the odds are stacked against them.
  • I have kids and grandkids who live in your neighbourhood so I like to support you who support their neighbours in need.  Also, my dad had a rough childhood and lived homeless for a while as a child. (He was an awesome dad. He somehow became the very good father he never had, for my brother and I.  Amazing healing is possible.
  • I have a few charities that I prefer to make donations to. Union Gospel is at the top of my list. Your help and care is certainly a beacon of hope to so many.

Thank you for trusting us with your gift. Together, we can transform communities, one life at a time.
