Protect People From The Heat
Long exposure to extreme heat increases the risk of conditions like dehydration and heat stroke. And worse—if you're experiencing homelessness, mental illness, health concerns, or malnutrition, the combination can be fatal. No person should have to face these life-threatening conditions.
Your help today means that UGM can reach even more men, women and families facing the heat this summer—not just providing relief, but saving lives.
UGM's Outreach Team is on the ground offering:
- Hats, sunscreen, water bottles,
- T-shirts, shorts, lip balm, sunglasses, bandanas
- Cold water through outreach and at UGM's 24/7 Reception
- A safe, cool refuge at UGM's Reception and Drop-in Centre
Donating In-Kind Items
Donating the following items can make a big difference in the health and safety of our neighbours:
- Reusable water bottles
- Hats (baseball hats, summer hats)
- Sunscreen
- Lip Balm
- Men’s & Women’s light, long sleeve shirts
- Men’s shorts and t-shirts
- Men’s & Women’s sandals
- Underwear (new only)

Please drop off items at UGM’s Thrift Store & Donation Centre, located at:
671 East Hastings
Vancouver, BC V6A 1R2
Tuesday – Friday (Closed Mondays in August)
9:00am – 4:30pm
Outside of regular business hours, please drop off items at UGM’s main reception at 601 East Hastings Street.
