Our Leadership

Senior Leadership Team

UGM-Bill

William B. Mollard

President

William has dedicated his leadership skills and compassionate heart to serve UGM for over 13 years. Previously the Chief Operating Officer for The Salvation Army BC Division, together with past executive leadership roles, Bill was drawn to UGM to help change lives and “be a part of what God is doing in our community”.

His favourite part of serving at UGM is seeing faith in action. “I love planning and inventing new solutions to challenging problems and emerging opportunities.” Bill brings valuable leadership skills and purposeful perspective to UGM.

Bill has been Senior Pastor of two churches in B.C., and is decorated with the Canadian Medal of Bravery (1987). Beyond UGM, you can find Bill doing “pretty much anything that requires planning and research.” He continues to race in triathlons, scuba dive and enjoys travelling—all while journeying through life with his wife of 41 years, Darlene, two children, Amy and Aaron and grandson Ben.

UGM-DanRussell

Dan Russell

Director of Programs

Dan brings a plethora of expertise to his work at UGM. He has a Master of Christian Studies and Doctorate of Ministry. Prior to UGM, he held roles such as the Director of Finance at a Christian Conference Centre in Austria and District Manager at General Motors.

He has a heart for our community members living in a world broken by poverty and addiction, which is what brought him to UGM, 14 years ago. “Seeing lives changed through competent care and the love of God in action” motivates him every day at work.

Beyond being thankful for his wife Karen, three grown children and daughter-in-law, he is loving the new experience of being a grandfather to Elias.  He also enjoys walks on the beach, resting in God’s presence, talks and games with family and friends, watching sports, a round of golf, and European chocolate.

UGM-GraceLynnReeve

Grace Lynn Reeve, MAL, CPHR, CLC

Director of People and Culture

Grace Lynn is passionate about creating and maintaining an organizational culture where employees are empowered to thrive and grow. Her heart for people has been clearly evident in her work at UGM for the past 11 years. Previously holding human resources and management roles with the B.C. Provincial Government and being the President of a consulting firm, Grace Lynn also holds an MA in Leadership, is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources, and has her Certified Leadership Coaching designation.

People are the heartbeat of UGM and Grace Lynn says she is grateful “to work with an exceptional leadership team to create a vibrant and compelling future that benefits our staff and volunteers and the people and communities we serve”.

Grace Lynn and her husband share four sons, two daughters, and eight grandchildren. They enjoy spending quality time with family and friends and also love travelling, cooking and entertaining.

UGM-Mary

Mary Lum, CPA, CA

Director of Finance

Mary’s analytical, critical thinking and collaborative approach has made a significant impact on UGM as she has served as Director of Finance the past four years. She draws on her previous experience as a manager in public practice accounting firms and as a controller in not for profit organizations.

She is most impacted by the people and culture of UGM and is driven in her work daily by “the courage of our community members, the integrity and authenticity of our colleagues, the generosity and commitment of our donors and the divine grace of our God.”

Mary and her husband Jerry have raised two sons together, savoring food and family time during their favorite dim sum lunches. Mary also enjoys steep walking, wild gardening, spiritual retreating and deep conversations.

UGM-RyanKoch

Ryan Koch

Director of Resource Development

Ryan is an expert at integrating his skills of fundraising and faith and he has brought this expertise to UGM to serve people in real, tangible ways for the past 11 years. Ryan has comprehensive fundraising experience with a variety of organizations in education, healthcare, and social services.

At UGM, Ryan is consistently inspired and motivated by “the incredible bravery of community members, the realness and authenticity of the UGM community and the fact that we can all come together (staff, community members, volunteers, donors) as broken human beings and experience the incredible richness that God creates out of the whole.”

Outside of UGM, Ryan enjoys doing anything creative, being active outside, spending time with his family and challenging himself with new recipes. Ryan has been married for 20 years to his wife Laura and together they raise three daughters and two dogs.

UGM-RobThompson

Rob Thompson

Director of Housing and Support Services

Rob has a variety of experience within UGM and beyond, that have perfectly prepared him for this role. He has been at UGM for 17 years, first starting as an Associate Chaplain, serving on the front lines. He worked a number of roles at UGM before ultimately becoming the Director of Housing and Support Services. Rob also holds a Masters of Divinity, a Doctorate of Ministry and a certification as a Certified Leadership Coach.

Rob lives out his desire to be a servant-leader and mentor at UGM every single day. “My favorite thing about working at UGM is serving alongside fellow servant leaders and seeing transformation in the people and communities we serve.”

Married with 3 adult children, Rob enjoys working on classic motorcycles and cars, kayaking and spending quality time with family and friends.
