Leveraging local congregations to better serve their neighbourhoods
Transforming Communities Grant
Demonstrating the love of Christ, Union Gospel Mission is determined to transform communities by overcoming poverty, homelessness, and addiction — one life at a time. But this mission cannot be accomplished by us alone.
We are grateful to partner with churches across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley to live out the calling Jesus has set out for caring neighbours, congregations, and institutions. We want to see congregations thrive as we respond to this calling together.
UGM’s Church Relations team is thrilled to be partnering with caring churches once again through the 2025 Transforming Communities Grant.
In 2020/21, UGM had the unique opportunity to partner with City in Focus to provide 18 grants to local churches who were offering vital support to neighbours in need. Through meal programs, advocacy, and community outreach, these communities of care were able to stabilize, increase, or create new programs to support people in the midst of the global pandemic.
From 2022 to 2024, the Transforming Communities Grant was awarded to 41 church communities who are seeking to leverage their good work towards eradicating poverty, homelessness, and addiction in their communities.
The church is paramount in the health of every community—which is why we want to work with you. Join us in 2025!
