Eastsiders After School Program
Grades 3–7 | Ages 8-12
Eastsiders is a safe, positive place for your kids to spend a few hours after school. Here, they can build great friendships, and are surrounded with supportive adults. Ultimately, Eastsiders is designed to help your kid finish the school year well, and along the way, to support them with mentorship and life skills.
There is no cost to enroll your kids into Eastsiders. We work primarily with Strathcona Elementary School.
UGM's Eastsiders curriculum includes:
- STEM: Science, technology, engineering and mathematics
- Arts and crafts
- Projects and life skills: For example, a cooking day at least once a month, which the kids love!
- Outdoor Days: Time spent in nature with a learning activity
- SEL: Social Emotional Learning
- On Pro-D days, Eastsiders goes out on field trips, which typically alternate between athletic and educational activities.
Program Highlights:
- One-on-on support from UGM staff
- Family supports (i.e. food, diaper, and hygiene hampers, referrals to resources, etc.)
