Union Gospel Mission has selected Dean Kurpjuweit to be our next President.
After 14 faithful years of service, William B. Mollard, UGM’s current President, announced his retirement in January 2022, feeling that he had completed the work God had called him to do. Thank you Bill for your service!
After a rigorous and equitable search process with many qualified candidates, Dean was unanimously selected by the Search Committee as the best fit for UGM. The Search Committee was comprised of UGM’s Board of Directors, and managed by the executive search firm WATSON Inc.
Dean is moving with his family to Vancouver from Edmonton, AB, where he has been working for the Mustard Seed as their Executive Director in Edmonton & Chief Regional Officer for Red Deer, Medicine Hat, and Kamloops.
He feels called to UGM because of his lifelong commitment to Christ, social justice, and serving alongside marginalized communities, and is firmly aligned with UGM’s vision of transforming communities, one life at a time.
UGM’s vision for the future — as outlined in our Mission, Core Values, and Strategic Plan — will continue to guide us under Dean’s leadership as we operate life-changing programs moving forward.
