In the face of inflation and sky-high cost of living, UGM's Summer BBQ event was back Saturday, July 15th at Oppenheimer Park. Families living in the Downtown Eastside gathered for fun, friends, and good food — creating happy memories and stepping away from the ongoing obstacles surrounding homelessness, poverty, and addiction.
It was a day full of smiles and laughter as 3000 guests enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, and freezies and summer joys like face painting, bouncy castles, and a mini-carnival of games.
