'Super Clinic' Empowers Underserved Community with Vital Services like Tax Assistance and CPP Access
Service Canada & CRA hold ‘Super Clinic’ at Union Gospel Mission
(Vancouver, B.C.) – In partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Service Canada, The Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, and Pigeon Park Savings, Vancouver’s Union Gospel Mission (UGM) is hosting a Super Clinic set to create significant strides for underserved community members by providing easy access to essential services such as tax returns, setting up people’s Social Insurance Numbers and Canadian Pension Plans (CPP).
"We're thrilled to be hosting today’s Super Clinic," shares Nicole Mucci, UGM's Media & Communications Manager. “We’ve seen how monumentally life-changing accessing certain benefits can be for those who’ve been struggling with homelessness, poverty or addiction.”
The Super Clinic gives people access to hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars in government support that could mean families get food on the table, or someone exits homelessness.
“We know how important benefits and credit payments can be in making life more affordable. The free tax help provided through the Community Volunteer Income Tax program is key to ensuring people get the payments they’re entitled to. We are grateful for community organizations like Union Gospel Mission for hosting these clinics and offering support to those who need it most,” adds the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of National Revenue.
